τεκνία μου ταῦτα γράφω ὑμῖν ἵνα μὴ ἁμάρτητε καὶ ἐάν τις ἁμάρτῃ παράκλητον ἔχομεν πρὸς τὸν πατέρα Ἰησοῦν Χριστὸν δίκαιον καὶ αὐτὸς ἱλασμός ἐστιν περὶ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν ἡμῶν οὐ περὶ τῶν ἡμετέρων δὲ μόνον ἀλλὰ καὶ περὶ ὅλου τοῦ κόσμου

My loved ones, the words I write are words of encouragement.  It’s possible to stop living life mistake after mistake.  But even when we do mess up, we have a reference through Jesus, who knows where our hearts are.  He stands up on our behalf and God listens!  This touching act of goodwill isn’t limited to us, but offered to everyone everywhere.
