ὁ λέγων ἐν αὐτῷ μένειν ὀφείλει καθὼς ἐκεῖνος περιεπάτησεν καὶ αὐτὸς οὕτως περιπατεῖν   ἀγαπητοί οὐκ ἐντολὴν καινὴν γράφω ὑμῖν ἀλλ’ ἐντολὴν παλαιὰν ἣν εἴχετε ἀπ’ ἀρχῆς ἡ ἐντολὴ ἡ παλαιά ἐστιν ὁ λόγος ὃν ἠκούσατε   πάλιν ἐντολὴν καινὴν γράφω ὑμῖν ὅ ἐστιν ἀληθὲς ἐν αὐτῷ καὶ ἐν ὑμῖν ὅτι ἡ σκοτία παράγεται καὶ τὸ φῶς τὸ ἀληθινὸν ἤδη φαίνει

And if you talk the talk, you’ve got an obligation to walk the walk - just like the example set before you.  C’mon guys, this isn’t anything new.  The rules of life have been around since anyone can remember. This is the original “word” I’ve been talking about.  The only thing that’s changed is our understanding of the “word” - now in human form!  But it doesn’t stop there: It’s inside of you.  This new concept is like the coming dawn.  The breath-taking light chases away the shadows of ignorance.  The same old things look new in the light of the sun!
