1 John 2:12-14
First and foremost, I write to you “babies” newly born into this kind of life. You’ve been released from your past mistakes - and it’s all thanks to Jesus. I didn’t forget you “fathers,” either. You knew the “word” long before he walked into our lives. And you “adolescents” aren’t children anymore! Even in your inexperience, you’ve conquered the evil force in your lives.
Remember when I wrote before? You children knew your Father intimately, like a good child should! As for you “fathers,” you’re just as keen to the “word” as you’ve always been. And you “adolescents” aren’t children anymore! You’ve grown strong. You’ve subdued the temptations of the evil one. The “word” isn’t going anywhere because it’s safe within you.
